Christy Frank Shares Three Passover Seder Wines

Many Jews associate Passover with Manischewitz wine, made in New York from Concord grapes, but even observant Jews now have a far broader set of choices. Christy Frank, owner of Frankly Wines in Tribeca, New York, suggests starting a seder with a kosher brut Cava from Taanug in northwest Spain. For the matzoh ball soup, she recommends the Ruth Lewandowski Mahlon, a California Arneis. And with brisket or lamb, there's Harkham Aziza's 2012 Shiraz from Australia's only certified kosher producer.

Quick Tip

Try to always be a day ahead in your cooking. If you follow this rule, then, when you get home from work, the family dinner will be waiting for you, rather than everyone waiting on supper. While you are heating up the meal you can be preparing for the next, or you can wait until everyone is fed before working on tomorrow. This puts the power back into your own hands by allowing you to cook when it best suits you while eliminating the stress caused by rushing.
